MARC SUMERAK Eisner and Harvey Award nominated writer Marc Sumerak has worked professionally in the comic book industry for over a decade. What started as an editorial internship during his junior year at Bowling Green State University soon transformed into an assistant editor position at Marvel Comics in New York City. Four years and five hundred publications later, Marc left Marvel's editorial staff and pursued a freelance writing career. As both an editor and a writer, Marc has helped chart the course for a number of today's most popular characters, including Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, The Hulk, Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, and many more.
In 2005, Marc helmed the re-launch of Marvel's POWER PACK franchise. His work as co-writer on FRANKLIN RICHARDS: SON OF A GENIUS earned an Eisner Award nomination (2006) and two Harvey Award nominations (2006 & 2008). Some of Marc's other writing work includes MARVEL ADVENTURES: SPIDER-MAN, HULK TEAM-UP, WEAPON X: FIRST CLASS, CHAOS WAR: GOD SQUAD, I AM AN AVENGER, SPIDER-MAN FAMILY, and a highly-publicized story from MODELS INC. starring Iron Man and TV fashion icon Tim Gunn.
Marc recently served as the consulting editor on the second volume of Chris Claremont's X-MEN FOREVER. He is also working on a number of upcoming writing projects, including an original all-ages graphic novel coming from IDW Publishing called ALL-GHOULS SCHOOL.
